CLUB RULES

1) MEMBERS MUST WEAR THEIR MEMBERSHIP-CARD IN FULL VIEW AT ALL TIMES WHILST ON CLUB PREMISES AND PRESENT THEIR MEMBERSHIP CARD IF REQUESTED TO DO SO BY ANOTHER MEMBER

 2) BOAC MEMBERSHIP FEES ARE FOR THE CALENDAR YEAR (1ST JAN – 31ST DEC) ARE DUE ON THE1ST JANUARY EACH YEAR & PAYABLE BY THE 28/29 FEBRUARY. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL INCUR A JOINING FEE OF A FURTHER £15 ON TOP OF THE ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP FEE AND A COMPULSORY SAFETY AWARENESS INSTRUCTION BEFORE A MEMBERSHIP IS GRANTED.

3) NO SHOOTING AT ANIMALS OR BIRDS. AND NO SHOOTING AT OR DELIBERATELY DAMAGING TREES.

4) NO LITTERING. TAKE YOUR LITTER HOME PLEASE.

5) NO DOGS ALLOWED LOOSE ON THE CLUB AREA THEY MUST BE ON A LEAD OR INSIDE YOUR VEHICLE.

6) BOAC SHALL BE MANAGED BY THE BOAC COMMITTEE MEMBERS. A QUORUM SHALL BE A MAJORITY OF THE COMMITTEE MEMBERS, INCLUDING AT LEAST ONE OF THE FOLLOWING CHAIRMAN, SECRETARY, OR TREASURER.

7) FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THESE RULES AND/OR ANY UNSAFE BEHAVIOUR MAY RESULT IN DISCIPLINARY ACTION.    THE COMMITTEE MAY DECIDE TO REVOKE THE PERSON’S MEMBERSHIP. THE COMMITTEE’S DECISION WILL BE FINAL.

8) THE RIGHT IS RESERVED TO REFUSE ENTRY TO ANY COMPETITION OR TO STOP FROM SHOOTING OR TO ENFORCE THE DEPARTURE FROM ANY PART OF THE SHOOT ANY PERSON BREAKING THE RULES OR FOR ANY OTHER REASON WITHOUT GIVING ANY REASON OR RIGHT TO REDRESS   

 9) ALL PERSONS AND THEIR PROPERTY INCLUDING VEHICLES ARE PRESENT AT THEIR OWN RISK.

10) ALWAYS TRY TO POLITELY CORRECT ANY UNSAFE PRACTICE YOU SEE, NO MATTER WHOM.

11) ALL MEMBERS MUST REPORT ANY UNSAFE BEHAVIOUR TO A BOAC COMMITTEE MEMBER.

12) WHEN HORSES OR PEDESTRIANS CAN BE HEARD OR SEEN DOWN THE LANE IT IS COURTEOUS TO CEASE FIRING, THEY ARE SENSITIVE TO THE SHARP CRACK OF AIRGUNS.

13)  SHOOTING IS ALLOWED FROM SUNRISE UNTIL SUNSET (DAYLIGHT) NO LAMPS OR TORCHES

14) NO BB’S OR BALL BEARINGS TO BE USED ON THE RANGE.

 15) All Members must sign in whether shooting or not and must be aware of club rules

16)  Prospective members who intend to shoot must pay the current guest fee of £4 . A Maximum of One Visit

  17)  Only one guest must be signed in by a member who will be responsible for their conduct. Misconduct of said guest may forfeit membership. They must leave the club when the member leaves the club grounds.

18) JUNIOR SHOOTER / PERSONS UNDER 18 YEARS CAN ONLY HAVE (FAMILY) MEMBERSHIP. PERSONS 18 YEARS AND OVER ARE REQUIRED TO JOIN AS FULL MEMBERS ON THE FIRST JANUARY AFTER REACHING 18 YEARS.

19) PERSONS UNDER 18 YEARS ARE ONLY PERMITTED TO SHOOT UNDER THE DIRECT SUPERVISION OF AN ADULT OVER 21YEARS OF AGE, WHO CANNOT BE SHOOTING AT THE SAME TIME.

 20) NO SMOKING INSIDE ANY OF THE SHEDS. SMOKING WILL BE PERMITTED OUTSIDE THE SHEDS. THIS ALSO INCLUDES THE USE OF ELECTRONIC CIGARETTES.

 21) ONLY AIR RIFLES UNDER 12FT LBS. AIR PISTOLS UNDER 6FT LBS. AND AIR GUN AMMUNITION ARE ALLOWED ON THE RANGE.      “FAC AIR RIFLES & AIR PISTOLS ARE STRICTLY FORBIDDEN”
22) NO TARGETS TO BE PLACED ON ANY RANGES WITHOUT PERMISSION FROM THE RANGE OFFICERS. 

A.G.M.PLEASE NOTE: THE CLUB’S MEMBERS ONLY, ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING WILL TAKE PLACE ON THE 3RD SUNDAY IN NOVEMBER AT 10:30 EVERY YEAR AT THE RANGE, UNLESS ADVERTISED OTHERWISE ON THE NOTICE BOARD. ALL ENQUIRIES REGARDING SPECIFIC RULES SHOULD BE DIRECTED TO THE COMMITTEE.


Disciplinary Procedures


It is the intention of the club that most disciplinary issues can be resolved by an informal procedure.


However contraventions of the club rules or safety procedures by any member (and or family member or visitor for whom they are responsible) will result in the implementation of the formal procedures.

1. First offence – An Informal verbal warning from any committee member, this may be delivered at any time without the need of a witness present.

2. Second Offence – Formal, final written warning signed by 3 (three) committee members sent by Registered Post to the offending members home address.


3. Third Offence -_the offending member shall be excluded from the club with immediate effect via letter (Recorded Delivery) to the member’s home or stated address.

Gross Misconduct

Offences of Gross Misconduct will result in instant exclusion from the club.
Such offences will include:-

1. Dangerous miss handling of guns on the clubs premises.

2. Serious and / or continued breaches of the club rules.

3. Theft of property, goods or monies from the club or its members or any other offence connected with the club or likely to bring the club in disrepute.

4. Threatening or abusive behaviour towards club members.

5. Physical assault.

This is by no means a complete list and may be added to or amended at the discretion of the committee.
